Young Eagle Report for 2010
We had 2 Young Eagle events in October. The first was on the 3rd. It was a scouting event for Scoutmaster Chip Marks' troop for their aviation badges. The scouts require certified airplanes for the badge rides, so Chip flies his Cardinal and a friend from PTK comes with his 172. Doug Conciatu flew a few scouts as well. Pete Dugdale and Dennis Glaeser flew a few scouts who already had their badges, and some siblings, in their planes. We chalked up another 17 kids for our total.
We ended the season on Oct 9th with a fantastic turnout for both kids and pilots. We had 11 pilots participate and they flew 98 Young Eagles! This time we had more 4 seat planes flying than 2 seaters!
The pilots were: Chip Marks, Dave Ebert, Dave Shirey, Dennis Glaeser, Doug Conciatu, Jim McDaniel, Laurelle White, Pete Dugdale, Rex Phelps, Bob Mahieu and Bill Appleberry.
This year our events at Ray and Croswell flew 560 Young Eagles! That is over 100 more than last year. Of course Doug Conciatu flies a whole bunch at OSH so we won't know our final total until the beginning of next year.
A few statistics from the World's Largest Logbook:
Thanks to everyone for their participation.
